Over the winter break, our district was featured in the New York Times over district changes to help reduce student stress. We are working on a different way to help our peers, but it is important for people to realize that our entire district is in the middle of a stress crisis.

Nuyu has advanced so incredibly as a team that we are pleased to introduce our new photographer. Hannah G. is now officially in charge of recording our events through a series of pictures taken by iPhone or camera. I will keep you up-to-date with the Nü-est news and pics to prove our studies!
Here is a few members of our group. Vivek, Rhythm, and Marilyn are discussing our group's position in the research path with Mr. McDonald, a professional on the topic of stress and social emotional learning. He introduced us to the social-emotional competencies from CASEL (http://www.casel.org/social-and-emotional-learning/core-competencies/). Now we are having frequent meetings as Nuyu progresses.
Would you like to help our friends at Attitudes In Reverse? The Community Problem Solving team (CmPS) is teaming up with AIR and accepting donations of new, adult socks to be donated to local hospitals this winter. Beanie-style hats, gloves, and playing cards are also appreciated. Please bring your donations to the main office and place them in the box labeled WARM AIR FOR WINTER. Please place any new, unwrapped items in the box by Friday morning. See any NÜYÜ member or Dr. McLelland-Crawley if you have any questions.
Should we think of brand-new ways to solve stress problems? We're not going to make a new coloring book, or give music therapy. WE NEED TO BE ORIGINAL. Bubble-wrap rooms? Squishy squeezers? What are we going to do?
